Kid-Check

What is Kid-Check?
Kid-Check is automated “sign-in” system for Skyway Kids ages birth through grade 6.

Why do we use Kid-Check?
Each week approximately 200 children check into our children’s classrooms.

Kid-Check is designed to:

  • Speed up and simplify routine and repetitive sign-in procedures.
  • Reduce congestion in classroom reception areas.
  • Increase time for teachers to welcome parents and children.
  • Reduce paperwork.
  • Increase safety by communicating parents’ instruction more readily to teachers, including information on child’s allergies, special needs, and location of the parent.
  • Increase security by refining sign-out procedures.

How does Kid-Check work?

“Sign-in cards” are issued to parents. These can be used at any of the automated “sign-in” locations at each entrance to the children’s area. When used, the card activates to a printer in the child’s classroom instantly printing parent’s previously provided information and instructions for the Skyway Kids staff. By the time the parent arrives at the classroom, their child’s attendance will be registered and teachers will have a copy of the following information:

  • Child’s and parent’s names
  • Special instructions such as allergies, medical conditions, etc.
  • Paging number for parent for use in the sanctuary

At the classroom for children birth through grade 6, parents are given a copy of the registration information. The “receipt” must be returned at check-out time. Classroom staff are not authorized to release a child without a receipt. A director will be called if a receipt is lost, and a picture ID will be required to release a child.

How do I get a Kid-Check Card?

Complete and return a registration form to the Welcome Center in the LifeCenter building. Pick up your card at the same location the following week. A child must attend three weeks before a card will be issued.
